Tun Dr Mahathir Lecture Series--KK

It all began on a positive and exciting note for most of my Malay friends, these energy also flew into me and i was charged. Tun Dr Mahathir is one of the Heroes of Malaysia if not the "most powerful man" in this country. But the fact that he was coming into our University brought some life and also some activities were brought to still.eg classes were cancelled.
 before the arrival of VIPS
I went there around 8:30am as i wanted to be there on time and just be cool there and  I was ready with my 5mg pixels phone to capture some few shots, not really good quality...but hey it works for me. It took a long time for the event to start. Finally it began, he arrived and ulullations could be heard high as he stepped in the hall. All attention went to him, all standing and clapping hands.
His arrival
After he took his platform, an individual from Student recited the prayer, we sang the national anthem and Uniten song. Then the school Chairman took the pulpit and delivered welcoming speech. It was there where he highlited that the Tun Dr Mahathir Lectures Series were in its fifth year from 2005 when the foundation was laid by him. In the previous years, different respective dignitaries from different fields were honoured to delivier the speech. So the year 2010, 13 December marked his second lecture in the series.
welcoming him

For me it gives me much pleasure to be part of this series, its my second one i attended so far, thank God for Uniten. As he continued with welcoming remarks, Tan Sri Leo hinted that they are approximately 8629 students population in Uniten. From this number, 30 countries have contributed.

Finally he took the stage to deliver his speech, he is one of those talented individuals who will just talk without reading from a prepared speech. He started to by highlighting his title being"GLOBALISING MALAYSIANS BY 2010". It was in there where he talked about the Japanese and European war, how it envolved and shaped peoples lifestyle. Also he spoke on the benefit of Malaysians globalisation, the benefits and the effects which will come with it. The benefits included being able to keep up with the modern technology, thus placing Malaysia on a higher peak. On the benefits, he gave some examples on how long it took for a ship to sail to Malaysia from Europe, being 8-10 months, and currently it takes less than 48 hours. "The world is becoming so small and close", he said. Not all ideas should be accepted in Globalization, because some people define it differently from others, so they must be screened. As Malaysia moves to globalization chapter, its independence its going tobe lost, but we must put some initiatives in place to withguard all these.

At the end questions were allowed, and few people posted a few, because time was an issue, they were forced to cut the question session short.
thats me.

Above all, it was a great lecture series, which when taken into serious consideration, it can change peoples motives, industries mission and vision because no men is an Island. Also like he said "To have peace, have war". So we should start in preparation for the future. If we fail to prepare for it, we will loose.
